Healing and Restoring Rwanda Through Faith and Action
Shalom Rwanda was born out of a profound calling to bring healing and hope to the heart of a nation still recovering from the devastating impact of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi. The organization officially launched in September 2023, marking the beginning of its mission and commitment to communities in Rwanda.
Guided by the scripture Luke 4:18-19, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor”.
Together, we are restoring what was broken, growing what was planted, and proclaiming the good news of Christ’s healing and restoration for all. Through a holistic approach, we not only aim to rebuild lives but also to inspire a flourishing Rwanda—a place where every individual can rise with dignity, strength, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Our mission is to co-create capacity in rural communities in Rwanda, primarily focusing on supporting survivors of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi, and fostering resilience and growth among all the youth, widowers, orphaned children, and farmers, contributing to the healing and strengthening of communities.
Christ is the source of our vision and the heart of our healing mission, driving us to embody His love and grace in all that we do.
Our commitment to walking alongside the people we serve, listening, and building solutions together.
Our purpose to create lasting transformation that reflects God’s justice, peace, and abundance on Earth.
